@kozmon0t They bother since they really want to find life out here. The radio signals are the only signals that they have right now that i know of anyways. If you want to reckon of ways to contact other civilizations quicker then i reckon you should join the nasa scientists and invent something that will get here in half the time. Otherwise you are all talk and no action.
January 23rd, 2012 on 10:08 pm
@LyeLye that’s what I’m saying. Why do they bother? Radio is so slow, it’s not likely used for interstellar communication.
I agree sending a probe to Europa is a fantastic thought. Except if the Europans turn out to be super-advanced and glide to Earth and conquer the ocean.
January 23rd, 2012 on 10:43 pm
@kozmon0t Then why would scientist bother watching the Centauri system or send out signals? They cant expect aliens to get the signal even in our life time, since to travel that distance for a radio wave it would take many years. I dont know if alien signals are more advanced but i take it upon myself to watch the science direct and i know they wouldnt be making a robot that flys to a planet, self drills under the icy surface of the planet and then flys back just for kicks.
January 23rd, 2012 on 11:33 pm
@LyeLye since it’s obsolete to them.
If they’re even interested in Earth, or have even noticed it (lots of other planets in the galaxy) they would use their own tech, if they were looking for advanced public.
And so far, Earth has ignored every message they’ve sent on their trans-quantum-entanglo-com device. They probably figure here’s nobody here, just like we figure nobody is here in the Centauri system since they ignored our radio signals.
January 24th, 2012 on 12:07 am
@kozmon0t Well our scientists send out radio signals all the time, why wouldnt aliens?
January 24th, 2012 on 12:59 am
I looked this up since i was at work first on the phone with my mother talking about moving in with her since we’re poor. When i look up on the wall and see the tv but cant quite hear what the guy is saying, and i read the thing saying alien signals and im like O.o woah.
January 24th, 2012 on 1:56 am
@xjcandmFX Same reason the Europeans sent explorers to the Americas, instead of diplomats with letters to the American king.
The reason the aliens haven’t apparently sent explorers is here’s too many planets compared to the number of spacefaring planets. The universe is huge. They just haven’t noticed Earth yet.
Eventually some of Earth’s bottled messages may reach them. Then they’ll probably show up and enslave us all. It’s not wise to trust more advanced civilizations.
January 24th, 2012 on 2:45 am
@kozmon0t Why not?
Are you trying to say a intelligent species on another planet have far surpassed the thought to try and communicate with lesser, younger civilizations in the universe? Just since theyre far superior? Idk thats your opinion but i reckon, why not?
January 24th, 2012 on 3:41 am
@xjcandmFX ok I’ll rephrase that – it would be like throwing a bottled message when you have a transmitting satellite dish, a radio tower, and internet access. It doesn’t matter if it would get here, they wouldn’t do it in the first place.
January 24th, 2012 on 3:51 am
@kozmon0t Right, it would be like throwing a bottled message into the vast ocean. But, after time it would eventually hit land. Same for radio messages sent across the vast universe. Just since you wont make contact in your life time, your message will eventually be received, and thats all that matters. That another intelligent race capable of receiving this message got it. Your existence will be known.
January 24th, 2012 on 4:45 am
Alien civilizations by radio to communicate would be like modern Earthlings throwing bottled messages into the ocean, or sending carrier pigeons across the Atlantic.
That is, it’s primitive, and they wouldn’t bother doing it.

January 24th, 2012 on 7:33 am
when has this been emitted on tv?
January 24th, 2012 on 8:03 am
@SnipersScope55 oh, hold on a following.. apparently the Pope now believes in Alien life?? Probably so every broad doesn’t just ditch the church when they arrive lol.
